With Hearthstone’s regular Tuesday maintenance complete, so begins a new Tavern Brawl. This time Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating the Winter Veil season. Great Father is providing gifts for all, presumably on his way to the annual World of Warcraft celebration in Ironforge.
In the Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl each player is provided with a gift at the beginning of the match. Each gift has zero attack, four health and a death rattle that provides your opponent with a card. Gifts can also be buffed or silenced by either player.
Once the death rattle has been triggered, the opponent of the gift owner gets a one mana card. When used, the player gets a choice between three card from the gift owner’s class. This card has a reduced cost, making destroying the gifts all the more desirable. As soon as one gift is destroyed, Great Father dutifully flies overhead and drops off another.
Every time Hearthstone hosts a Tavern Brawl players gain a prize for their first win, usually a free pack of cards. This Tavern Brawl is offering something a little different, a new Winter Veil-themed card back. Once a player wins their first game, the chest on the Tavern Brawl page opens and card back is added to their collection. The Gift Exchange Tavern Brawl runs until Monday, December 21st.
