Into The Dead by PikPok

Into the Dead is a creepy first-person endless runner presented by PikPok.

Into the Dead doesn’t really have a lot of story behind it apart from the fact the world as we know it is gone. Everyone is dead and have risen as zombies, except you. Now you have to run to stay alive. That’s it, but that’s what makes Into the Dead special. The game is fast-paced, creepy and fun. Most of all, it doesn’t need to be more than it is.

Try as you might, sooner or later, you're going to get eaten

Into the Dead Gameplay

Players wake up near a downed and burning helicopter. Presumably the crash of the ‘copter has attracted the living dead to your location because they are everywhere. You’re only chance at survival is to run as fast and as far as you can.

Dodge zombies whenever possible because even with a gun, you only have so many bullets

Controls are limited. You can only move left or right to avoid zombies or you can shoot your way through the dead if you have a weapon. The game’s default mode is to use the tilt controls for left and right movement and screen tapping to fire weapons, however there are multiple control configurations available in the game’s settings.

The tilt control is still my favourite, however it is bulky on a full-sized iPad. On a phone, or iPad mini, the tilt controls are perfect but I’ve switched my iPad settings to the second option - holding the left or right side of the screen to move and tapping the centre to fire weapons.

Into The Dead Game
Into the Dead has a great selection of control options

Games are quick, lasting anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes. The farther you get, the more dead and other obstacles stand in your way. Buying in-game ‘Perks’ can help you reach a greater distance. You can buy up to five ‘Perks’ per game, like starting off with a gun, or having additional ammo to help you on your way. Perks cost 100 coins each. Coins are easily obtained through playing the game, completing missions, or by watching an ad before each game yielding 1000 coins per watch.

Picking up some Perks is always a good idea

New and harder modes are unlocked as players complete mission sets, like the Massacre and Flashlight modes.

Each mode offers something creepy and new

Into the Dead Free and Pay Options

Into the Dead has a full range of in-game purchases and real-world purchases that enhance the game.

Limited time mode trials can also be opened up by completing missions

Additional skins like the American Football skin, new weapons and companion dogs can be purchased using in-game coin or by completing mission sets.

Into The Dead Game
Football and zombies, that's right, FOOTBALL and ZOMBIES!

Other options or skins can only be purchased using real-world cash. The options are extensive and awesome. They only affect the game in small ways but they make Into the Dead visually more stunning and fun, which is exactly what in-game purchases should do.

Because who wouldn't want to use a concrete cutter on the undead?

Into the Dead is a great option for horror fans, zombie fans, endless runner fans. It is definitely worth downloading and investing a little cash into. Into the Dead is available for iOS, Android, and Windows phones.
